We announce the Fifth Edition of the Festival of Short Films “There’s a time for... integration”. This festival will be of interest to all video/film makers who have been involved in, or intend to be involved in the subject of integration involving people, families, populations of various cultural and national origins. Works which treat these subjects in a fresh and innovative way will be especially appreciated.

REGULATIONS

• The festival is open to any documentary or fiction film which deals with the theme of integration between people, families or populations of different cultures and national origins, and which lasts no longer than 20 minutes.
  
  
• For the selection phase the film must be presented in DVD (copies must be adequately verified) or in VHS Pal, accompanied by a related photograph, and a brief synopsis in Italian.
  
  
• The 2011 edition of the festival contains two sections: “national-international” and “territory – school – institutions”. All work received will undergo initial selection to produce a final short-list of films admitted to the festival.
  
  
• Whoever submits the work must declare him/herself to be the author in accordance with the predicted use included in these regulations thereby freeing the organizers of the festival from any responsibility regarding any third party who may contest authorship.
  
  
• For the “national – international” section, the jury, made up of both audio-visual and intercultural immigration experts, will assign the first prize of 1,000 Euros (before tax) to the best film shortlisted. The jury also reserves the right to make special mentions, where they see fit, and also reserves the right not to assign the prize or to make special mentions. The judges’ decisions are final.
  
  
• For the section “territory – school – institutions”, another jury composed of “intercultural development agents” of the Basso Sebino will assign a prize of 500 Euros (before tax) entitled “The Saad Zaghoul Memorial Prize”, in memory of their colleague. The judges’ decisions are final.
  
  
• The projection and the prize giving will take place on the evenings of Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November 2011, though the Festival Organizers reserve the right to change the date if necessary.
  
  
• The Festival Organizers reserve the right to utilize up to 3 minutes of parts of the films short- listed to promote the Festival.
  
  
• By registering for the Festival, participants authorize projection of the film at no charge, both during the festival, and in other connected events, always for cultural or formative events.
  
  
• The organizing committee reserves the right to make a DVD of a selection of work received, of their choice, dependent upon the consent of the authors.
  
  
• Participation in the Festival is dependent on acceptance of all conditions included in the present regulations and method of registration.
  

METHOD OF REGISTRATION

All works for short listing should be sent, to the following address by post, along with the registration form, filled in completely and signed.

The following information should be clearly marked on the packaging: Title, Author, Length, Format, Year of production. Films selected for the festival and projection must be received in mini DV format without exception before Friday 11th November 2011 otherwise they will be excluded from the festival.

Only films selected for the festival and sent in mini DV format will be returned to participants by post at the expense of the festival organisers. Festival Organizers do not accept responsibility for eventual damage or delay, outside their control, in returning works.

Only selected authors will be informed of their selection, either by telephone or e-mail, around the second half of October 2011.
While taking due care, the organisation does not accept responsibility in case of theft or damage to the materials.

Any eventual insurance costs are to be paid for by the competitor.

If a selected work has already been inserted in the programme, it can not be withdrawn. The author of the work will be mentioned on the programme and in the Festival Press Release.

The Festival organizers reserve the right to decide on questions not expressly foreseen under present regulations.

In case of any controversy, the Italian version of Regulations takes precedence.
